Defence contractor Kord Defence will supply its Advanced RACU Commander Systems to the Ukrainian Military under the Australian Government’s $100m package of military assistance announced in April.

The Systems will form part of high priority equipment required by Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline, with Kord also providing
comprehensive training to Ukrainian soldiers.

Managing Director of the Kord Group Dr Peter Moran said, “We are delighted to equip Ukrainian soldiers with our RACU Commander systems, which we are confident will enhance their safety and lethality on the frontline.

“Our RACU Technology will enable Ukrainian soldiers to keep ‘head up, eyes on target, hands on weapon, and we are honoured to stand with other nations and industries in aiding their efforts.”

The RACU Commander System offers a programmable, centralised point of control for all weapon-mounted and body-worn electronic devices, including radios.

This Technology provides seamless functional integration of both current and future soldier systems.

The system includes a programmable three button Controller (Commander) as well as a range of adapters which enable either wired or wireless control of the electronic devices.

The Controller can be deployed singly or as a linked pair of control units.

Dr Moran said “Think of it as a simple, common remote for the soldier, which gives them quick, easy and intuitive control.”

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko recently visited Kord’s Canberra facility to inspect the technology as well as to thank staff for their efforts in assisting Ukraine in its war against Russia.
